Of Cookies and Dancing and Pocket Companions Too

Going to camp in January was supposed to be about tubing, sledding, cross-country skiing, snowy winter days and snowy winter nights.  But it turned out to be none of those things.  As you can see from the pictures, there wasn't very much snow and certainly not enough to do something like tubing.  We started off the week with opening Christmas gifts, enjoying cookies and tea and hot chocolate, and laughing until our sides ached at some of the gifts that were given.  (the Richard: A Pocket Companion book I made, filled with photos and quotes of Richard Armitage, gained the most laughs of the night).  After that very first night the laughs never stopped, and we were constantly laughing or giggling over some personal joke that we as best friends share.  We drank lots and lots of tea and hot chocolate by the fire, and ate through buckets of Christmas cookies, none of which lasted the whole week. We had dance parties in the evenings, when we all sang songs at the top of our lungs and danced around one cabin while the parents played Settlers of Catan in the other cabin.  We had our fair share of Richard Armitage fangirling (indeed, it seemed as if he was always the subject of our conversations :)), watched a few Robin Hood episodes, and we filmed another music video which is still in the editing process.   And, following tradition, we ended the week by eating lunch at Emma Krumbees where we had one last Richard Armitage moment before we hugged eachother goodbye.

So even though we didn't get to do many of the things we had planned on, the week was still loads of fun and it went by much too quickly.  Being with friends makes up even for lack of snow. :)

  1. Ooh a Richard Armitage book! That sounds cool. Are there many Hobbit quotes in it?
