This year's strawberry crop wasn't very good. We had so much rain that most of the berries got mushy and ruined. I managed to pick enough from three rows to make two pies and nothing else. Despite the less-than-stellar berries, the pies turned out heavenly. Nick said they were the greatest ones I've ever made, and has been asking me to make more ever since ("Are you sure it isn't as good with berries from the store? Maybe you should try and see"). Our sweet little Raspberry was, of course, the sweetest berry at the farm. She got to taste her first strawberry and absolutely loved it. She's been eating them ever since!
