Baby number two, Philippa Eilonwy Nichole, was born on August 18th, a whole 13 days late! They say good things come to those who wait, and in this case it's true!
Following our pattern of giving our children one saint's name, one family name, and one "freebie" name that we really like, we named Philippa after Saint Philip and Philipp Nicolai, her daddy, and Eilonwy from the Chronicles of Prydain. Nick has always loved the name Eilonwy, and we both love the character in the books.
She weighed 10 lbs 9 oz and was 22 inches long. I was expecting her to be at least nine pounds, but I wasn't expecting ten and a half!
She's a good sleeper, a big eater, a grump, a chunk, and most especially a cutie. We all love her so much, and Gwen is loving having a little sister to kiss and hug and hold.
