Mom and Aunt Beth spent all of last Saturday making Apple Cider. The result was hot, spicy, and delicious. While this recipe may not look all that complicated, it takes lots of time and many hands so try it out when you have lots of people to make it with. Oh, and it will make your kitchen smell like heaven.
Hot Apple Cider
8-10 apples
1/2 c. sugar
4 cinnamon sticks or 4 Tbsp. cinnamon
4 Tbsp. allspice
Wrap cinnamon and allspice in doubled cheesecloth and tie. Add to apples.
Boil on high for 1 hour uncovered. Turn down heat and simmer for 2 hours uncovered. Cool.
Remove spices and mash. Strain through cheesecloth.
