On December 6th we woke up to find a gift wrapped and waiting for us on the dining room table. We ripped open the paper to discover this beautiful little incense smoker, handmade in Germany. Unbeknownst to us, Dad and Mom had decided that we should start a tradition of celebrating St. Nicholas Day, as they do in Europe. Of course we weren't going to turn such a wonderful gift down! Since then we've been burning incense twice a day. It's enthralling to watch the smoke poor out of his open mouth and smell the wonderful scent of incense. Aren't traditions just wonderful?
